Beginner Triathlon Training Clinics - Held by Energy Link in Partnership with NISSAN/BRW Corporate Triathlon Series

Energy Link will be running a series of fortnightly beginner Triathlon Clinics covering all aspects of triathlon and the Nissan/BRW corporate triathlon event. These clinics will be held on Sat 27th Feb, 13th March and 3rd April 2010.

Beginner Triathlon Training Clinics
Energy Link will be running a series of fortnightly beginner Triathlon Clinics covering all aspects of triathlon and the Nissan/BRW corporate triathlon event.
Clinic Details: Saturday fortnightly from 3:30 to 5pm.
Location: Sydney locations. See Clinic info below…
This will be confirmed to all registered athletes.
Dates: Sat 27th Feb, 13th March and 3rd April 2010.
Including: Information session and beginner practical.
Payment: Clinic 1 & 3 $10. Clinic 2 $15 + entry to the aquatic centre.
Clinic 1 outline - Saturday 27th February:
Centennial Park - At the duck pond on the inner part of the 4km loop. 3:30 -5pm.
Includes 15-20 mins information session and 45-60min practical.
Information topics:
• Energy Link Coaching introduction, Clubs and associations.
• Race day equipment and safety check list.
• Beginner triathlon training and preparation advise and tips.
• Bike and transitions skills - spotting your bike, transition area set-up and tips.
• Nutrition, hydration, core and maintenance advice.
Practical: Bike Session – please bring your bike, helmet, shoes and wear comfortable clothing that you can ride in. Also bring your run hat a sun glasses if you will race in them.
Clinic 2 outline - Saturday 13th March:
Lane Cove Pool - 2 Little St, Lane Cove. 3:30 – 5pm.
Includes 15-20min information session and 60min practical.
*Important note: $ 6.50 Entry to the pool is at each individual’s expense. Session cost is $15.
Information topics:
• Swim skills and technique.
• Open water swimming information: race start, wetsuits, navigation and breathing skills, drafting, turning buoys, swim exit, swim to bike transitions.
Practical: Swim session – please bring swimming costume or whatever you plan to race in. Goggles, swim cap, flippers and a kick board.
Clinic 3 outline – Saturday 3rd April:
TBA – will confirm prior to clinic. Includes 15-20min information session and 45min practical.
Information topics:
• Running skills and technique.
• Running off the bike skills.
• Race day rules and regulations.
• Course preparation, warm ups and cool downs.
Practical: Run fitness training – please wear comfortable running gear, running shoes and a hat.
