BTC AGE GROUP COMPETITION
The BTC Age Group Competition recognises the best performing club members within each age group (five year increments) across the club. BTC Age Group Competition winners are announced and awarded with an engraved glass at the annual End-of Season Celebration.
During each triathlon season, club members earn points toward the BTC Age Group Competition by participating in BTC club events (club races, time trials and other events) and by representing BTC at NSW Club Championships.
Points are awarded down to 6th place in each gender age-group:
Club Races: 12 points for 1st down to 2 points for 6th.
Time Trials: 6 points for 1st down to 1 point for 6th.
Club Champs: 18 points for 1st down to 3 points for 6th.
Age groups are determined with reference to members’ ages at 31 December during the relevant season.
In order to be eligible to win a BTC Age Group category, a member will be required to have competed in a BTC-arranged club race, or on behalf of BTC in NSW Club Champs in the relevant season.
NEW For the 2023/24 season only the best 6 results from the Club Event Schedule (club races, TT’s, NSW Club Champs, community events) will be used in calculating the individual totals for the BTC Age Group Competition.
During any season, the BTC Committee may, at its discretion, amend the schedule of eligible events for the purposes of the Age Group Competition. This discretion is intended to provide the Committee with the flexibility to provide as full a programme of events as possible.
VOLUNTEER CREDIT:
Club members aged over 15 years must also volunteer at a BTC event at least once during the season in order to be eligible to win a BTC Age Group Competition title. The Committee also has the discretion to determine that a member has satisfied the volunteer requirement where they have contributed to the club in any other meaningful way during the season. Head to the volunteers page for more information about volunteering opportunities and to register.
